Monday’s national championship game may involve Alabama and Clemson, but it’s players from Michigan State and Ohio State who are providing the weekend fireworks. Friday night, Buckeyes linebacker Darron Lee, who is headed to the NFL, decided to take a shot at Spartans quarterback Connor Cook. Lee joked that the College Football Playoff’s poor ratings were due in part to Michigan State’s poor performance against Alabama. Cook’s response? Ohio State should have beaten Michigan State then.Lee deleted his tweets overnight. Cook has not. #ESPN might have to give away $20 million in free ads due to horrible #CollegeFootballPlayoff – Business Insider https://t.co/yQzg6sIxTn— IdaFlo (@IdaFlo) January 8, [email protected] IF u would have beaten us, u might have had a say in it! But ya didn’t— Connor Cook (@Connor_Cook03) January 9, 2016@DLeeMG8 it’s okay to finish 2nd place in the Big Ten East! Appreciate it though bro— Connor Cook (@Connor_Cook03) January 9, 2016We’re not really sure that anyone won here – both come off looking a bit petty. Perhaps they’ll meet again on the field in the NFL soon.
